About Leonard Lance Share
 

Leonard Lance was first elected to NJ State Senate in November 2001 after serving ten years in the General Assembly, Leonard was reelected in November 2003 and again in 2007. He is the Senate Republican Budget Officer. The New York Times calls him "one of the party’s most effective members of the State Legislature."

Raised in Hunterdon County, Leonard attended public schools and holds a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa; a law degree from Vanderbilt University; and a masters from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs of Princeton University.

Leonard served as the law clerk to the Warren County Court in 1977 and 1978. He was assistant counsel for county and municipal matters for Governor Thomas H. Kean from 1983 to 1990.

Leonard is a reformer who will cut taxes, cut spending, and help reduce the debt. NJ-07 leans slightly Republican with a PVI of R+1.
